Prompt Writing Tips for EFL Teachers

Be specific about the level. Don't just say "beginner." Say "A2-level" or "B1-level" so the AI calibrates vocabulary and grammar complexity. If you're targeting a specific exam (e.g., YDS, LGS), mention it.
Mention the L1. Saying "Turkish-speaking students" helps the AI anticipate common errors (e.g., article usage, word order) and can produce more relevant content.
Specify the skill focus. "Reading comprehension" is better than "reading." Even better: "scanning for specific information in a reading text."
Ask for teacher instructions too. Adding "Include teacher instructions and answer key" saves you time and makes AI output more classroom-ready.
Set word/time limits. "300-word text" or "5-minute activity" gives the AI a clear constraint. Without it, outputs tend to be too long or too short.
Iterate. Your first prompt rarely gives the perfect result. Use the Evaluate tab to check your prompt quality, revise, then Compare your original and revised versions.
